I am so excited to share that I was featured in Forbes twice in one year. I went with my husband and two girls to visit grandparents in Toronto, Canada in the middle of June. One morning I woke up and saw an intriguing press opportunity that I was a fit for. I decided to pitch the Forbes editor before starting my day. After a long day of participating in outdoor water activities with my kids, I decided to check my business email account. I received a response from Ky Trang Ho requesting more information and a picture of me with my product, Wiggletot. Initially, I panicked because I didn’t have any samples with me and decided to go back to New Jersey a day earlier. I didn’t tell anyone in my family the reason for my early departure because it was a long shot that I would provide the neccesary information in time.

We got home extremely late and I decided I would wait until the early morning before I ask my husband to take a picture of me standing over a Wiggletot Diaper Changing Set. I was mentally and physically exhausted but a voice inside my head kept urging me to get ready for the picture. I submitted the additional information and the picture to the editor hoping that it wasn’t too late.

I was super excited to receive a response the next day how I was going to be featured in Forbes on July 2nd, 2016. Listening to my inner voice has benefited me this time. Read the Forbes article here!

Mother’s Day is on the second Sunday in May of every year. This year Mother’s Day is May 8, 2016. We celebrate the roles of mothers on this day with gifts, flowers, candy, and/or a meal cooked for them.

The National Retail Federation says consumer’s most popular Mother’s Day gifts are buying mom jewelry, flowers, gift cards, clothing/accessories and/or taking mom out to a restaurant for brunch/lunch/dinner.

What moms really want on this day according to Forbes editor is time. “…all moms appreciate the gift of your time. Making her feel special is as easy as spending the day with her.”

If you do buy mom a gift from any of those cliché categories find a way to personalize it.

Eating Out
Taking your mom out to eat can be very personal. You can either choose her favorite restaurant or go to a restaurant that she has never been to but has good reviews for making her favorite dish.

Flowers
I am not sure how you can personalize flowers besides remembering her favorite kind or color even if it isn’t the traditional rose.

Gift Cards
As for purchasing a Mother’s Day gift card, maybe personalize it by having it from her favorite store or giving her a credit card gift card and providing coupon codes from her favorite stores. That takes a lot of effort. Maybe combine coupon codes from her favorite stuff and a few suggestions that might make her life easier. In addition, you can also purchase a movie gift card if you know your mom loves to watch movies. However, I wouldn’t recommend taking her to see the new film “Mother’s Day starring Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson, Julia Roberts and Jason Sudeikis. It might be tempting because it fits the theme perfectly but Rotten Tomatoes gave the movie a whopping 9% rating. The audience score was more generous and gave it a 54% score.

Jewelry
Personalizing jewelry is tricky. You may not want to have names engraved on it unless you know it is a definite keeper and you know her jewelry sizes. The easier approach is to buy a necklace or bracelet that has a locket which you can put her kid(s) picture in it. Looking through her jewelry collection and purchasing something that would compliment her existing pieces is another way to personalize the jewelry purchase. Maybe you could buy a set of earrings that would look great with one of her favorite necklaces.

Even though “some will splurge, others will search high and low for the perfect, practical gift, knowing that she likes any gift that comes from the heart” says the NRL. I know most moms like something that is from the heart and what better way to a new moms heart than by giving her something that shows you understand how challenging it can be to stay at home and care for a baby.

First Time Mom
Show a new mom that you appreciate her by “lending a hand” even when you aren’t physically present to help. Giving the gift of Wiggletot (www.wiggletot.com) will make diaper changing a lot easier for mom for a duty that is conducted approximately 5 to 7 times a day when a baby becomes too wiggly. It will make changing quicker with less mess to clean up or, loads of laundry washed and supplies purchased. Make mom’s day today and everyday. 20% off coupon with code: MDAY20
